  1. Tone: Good tone quality
  2. Tonguing: Single, double, and triple at 120
  3. Fingering: All scales
  4. Flexibility: Slur and trill smoothly
  5. Expression: Make the trumpet talk emotionally
  6. Range: Consistently hit high C; and reach a double high
  7. Theory: sight read well; and improvise
  8. Music: Play solos with background
  9. Performance: Play solo in concert
